The Brazilian event brings together various high-end Chilean wines and seeks to promote national brands through a select group of journalists and influencers.

On July 21, Marcelo Papa, chief winemaker of the Marques de Casa Concha line and technical director of Concha y Toro, participated in Wines of Chile Luxury Tasting’s sixth session.

The event takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and consists of presenting six high-end Chilean labels which attendees, including journalists and influencers, taste. Simultaneously, winemakers connect online and explain to guests the motivation, philosophy, and history behind each wine.

On this occasion, Papa talked about how Etiqueta Negra’s 2018 vintage follows the line’s spirit of constant innovation. It is a red blend of Bordeaux grape varieties, primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, undoubtedly a great example of Alto Maipo Valley’s character.

Of great elegance and complexity, this premium wine is produced in one of the most renowned terroirs for this grape variety, Puente Alto. Its rocky alluvial soils and Mediterranean climate contribute to high-grade fruit ripening. Considered an essential component of Chilean wine tradition, this winery has broad recognition and prestige for producing the best Cabernet Sauvignon in the country, the main grape variety of Marques de Casa Concha Etiqueta Negra.
