Marcelo Papa was in London June 14–18 to meet with members of the wine press and lead two major events for the wine trade and consumers.

The Marques de Casa Concha brand hosted a series of activities for members of the wine press, the trade and consumers during winemaker Marcelo Papa’s visit to England in the third week of June.
On the first day, the winemaker met with Richard Hemming MW—one of the leading contributors to—and Margaret Rand of Decanter magazine, to taste samples of Chardonnay from the Limarí and Bío Bío valleys.

Later on, Marcelo led a masterclass on Chardonnays from extreme valleys organized jointly with The Drinks Business. At the session, samples from different foudres and barrels from the Limarí and Bío Bío valleys were tasted by 36 distinguished members of the Trade, including representatives of Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Marks & Spencer, Vinoteca, Tate, Grosvenor Hotel and the Royal Garden Hotel.

The following day, Papa spoke at an event organized by The Spectator magazine, where 35 people—mainly consumers—tasted Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay 2014, Merlot 2013, Carmenere 2014, Syrah 2013 and Cabernet Sauvignon 2013.

The winemaker also participated in a “Three Wine Men” event organized by renowned wine experts Oz Clarke, Olly Smith and Tim Atkin MW, in which more than 1500 wine enthusiasts came together to learn about the latest developments and trends in the global wine industry. At the event, Marcelo Papa delivered three well-received masterclasses to a packed audience, in which he explored the qualities of each wine in the highly acclaimed Marques de Casa Concha line.
In closing, the UK Concha y Toro team participated in Tom Canavan’s Glasgow Festival of Wine, where Marques de Casa Concha was one of the most celebrated wines present.
